A worry monster is designed to discuss and reduce worries. Children write or draw their worry onto a piece of paper and then feed it to their worry monster. Once the monster has eaten it, the worry note can then be removed later by and adult. This can then either give an opportunity for the worry to be discussed and hopefully resolved or can give the adult an insight as to why the child feels the way they do and support them without them knowing that the note has been retrieved and read by an adult.
